Snow Pad APP Privacy Policy

Introduction

Snow Pad APP (hereinafter referred to as “this App”) is developed and operated by Hangzhou Rejoin Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “we” or “us”). It is a tablet application specially built to provide supporting services for the Snow Pad low vision aid device.

We fully recognize the importance of personal information to you and solemnly undertake to protect your privacy and data security. Guided by the unique product design of this App, we make an explicit statement: this App adheres to the core privacy protection principles of Local-First Processing, Zero Active Data Collection, and No Automatic Background Networking. We will not collect, store, use or share any of your personal information.

I. How We Collect and Use Your Personal Information

We solemnly promise that this App will not actively collect any personal information from users. Details are set out below:

No Registration or Login Required: This App does not require any form of registration, login or real-name verification. After downloading and installing the App on your tablet and connecting to the Snow Pad device, you may use all core functions directly. Accordingly, we do not obtain any personally identifiable information such as account details, mobile phone numbers or email addresses.
No Collection of User Behaviour Data: We do not build or maintain independent click tracking, browsing logs or operation records associated with you within the App.
No User Profiling: This App will not carry out automated analysis, user profiling or algorithmic recommendations based on your operations or content.
Local Storage Principle: All content created, edited and saved by you during use is stored solely on the local storage of your tablet. We will not upload such content to any cloud server, and we have no technical capability to remotely read, access or back up any files stored locally on your device.
Important Clarification: Snow Pad will not append user accounts, unique device identifiers, OCR input images, recognised text or TTS content to any external hyperlinks triggered within the App.

II. Use of Camera and Storage Permissions and Data Isolation

To support the normal operation of Snow Pad low vision aid functions, this App may request access to your tablet’s camera and local storage permissions. We impose strict restrictions and explanations regarding permission access and data storage rules: Pure Local Processing and In-App Storage: If you take photos within this App or import images from your gallery, all image data is processed and displayed only on your local device. Special Notice: photos captured or saved inside this App are stored exclusively in the App’s private album space; we will not write or synchronise photos to your device’s system gallery. The App only accesses images you actively import and will not automatically scan your full system gallery without your explicit action.

No Unauthorised Uploads: Photos you capture are stored locally on your tablet and will not be uploaded to our servers or any third-party servers.

User-Initiated Sharing: Image data will only leave the App when you manually initiate sharing to third-party applications. Once shared, such data will be governed by the privacy policies of the receiving third party, over which we have no control.

III. Network Connections, Embedded Web Components and External Links

All core low vision aid functions of this App fully support offline operation and do not require internet access. No background network communication will occur without your active operation. Network access is only triggered by your voluntary actions in the scenarios below.

Important Reminder: Data collected by websites or web services you access via the components listed below is controlled by such third parties and subject to their respective privacy policies. Snow Pad will not proactively provide your personal data to these websites. However, such online services may automatically collect technical metadata including IP address, system and browser information, access timestamps, cookies, cache and viewing activities.

3.1 User Manual (PDF)

When you tap “View Manual”, the App opens the PDF document hosted on the Zoomax official website via Apple’s SFSafariViewController (Safari browsing component). Snow Pad cannot access webpage interactions, browsing history or website session data within this Safari component. Zoomax servers may record access requests in accordance with Zoomax’s separate privacy notice.

3.2 Demo Videos

When you tap “Watch Demo Video”, the App loads web content through built-in WKWebView:

Simplified Chinese language environment: redirects to the demo page on the Zoomax official website;
All other language environments: loads a YouTube playlist.

Web service providers may process your IP address, device/browser information, access time, cookies, cache and video viewing records. Web cache, cookies and local storage generated within WKWebView may remain stored on your device. The demo page on the Chinese official website additionally embeds the Tidio online customer service service.

3.3 OCR Text Recognition & TTS Text-to-Speech Function

This App integrates the Google ML Kit Text Recognition SDK. OCR input images, the recognition computation process and recognition results are all processed locally on your device; relevant content will not be uploaded to Google servers. The Google ML Kit SDK may initiate connections to Google servers to obtain bug fixes, model updates and hardware compatibility information, as well as upload SDK operating performance, error logs and usage metrics.

General Supplementary Terms

We will not attach any user identifiers or OCR/TTS content within redirected links. Nevertheless, third-party platforms including the Zoomax official website and YouTube may independently collect IP addresses, system information, access timestamps, cookies and viewing activity data.

IV. Sharing, Transfer and Public Disclosure of Your Personal Information

Based on our principle of collecting no personal information, we will not disclose user information to third parties without your consent. Where third parties process your information, they shall be bound by this Policy. We may disclose information only under the following special circumstances: Corporate Asset Transactions: In the event of commercial transactions such as asset sales, transfers, mergers, acquisitions, spin-offs, restructuring or bankruptcy liquidation, we may transfer business assets in whole or in part. Since we do not retain your contact information, we are unable to send individual notifications to you. Relevant change announcements will be published on our official website in advance. Legal Compliance Scenarios: We may disclose information when we receive judicial documents or administrative requests for information disclosure and determine such disclosure complies with applicable laws and regulations; to investigate or stop breaches of the User Agreement or this Privacy Policy; or to protect the legitimate rights, interests, property and personal safety of us, other users or third parties.

Except for the situations above, we will not share your personal information with any third-party enterprises, organizations or individuals. This App contains no advertisements and does not embed any third-party SDKs, plugins or third-party code. No third party participates in the operation or data processing of this App.

V. Third-Party Disclaimer

We assume no liability for acts of third parties, third-party website content, your activities after providing information to third parties, or any products and services launched by third parties. The presence of third-party website links within this App does not imply sponsorship, affiliation or association between us and such entities.

VI. Your Rights

As we do not collect or hold any of your personal information, common procedures available on other internet services such as access, rectification, erasure of personal information and account cancellation do not apply to this App. You retain full control over all content stored locally within this App. You may delete any files inside the App or uninstall the App at any time; all local data will be permanently erased upon uninstallation.

VII. Protection of Minors

This App is not designed to provide dedicated online services targeted at minors. Furthermore, since we do not collect any personal information, there is no scenario involving the collection of minors’ personal information. We recommend that minors use the offline low vision aid functions of this App under the guidance of their guardians.

VIII. Updates to the Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our business develops or applicable laws and regulations change. The updated version will be published within the App or on our official website. As we do not store your contact information, we cannot notify you of changes individually via push notifications or emails. We recommend you review this page regularly to obtain the latest version.
